I had no idea how female physiology plays such a big role in car crash injuries. I think it&#x27;s critical to improve the variety of test dummies to study the effects of all kinds of physiological differences and conditions, not only sex. I can imagine osteoporosis, obesity, and muscular strength having a big effect on what actually happens in a crash. I think it is necessary to also test how small mishaps and adjustments in the use of the seatbelt affect the risk of seatbelt-related injury. If it is trivially easy to have the belt miss your shoulder or pass over your throat, it is about time for a complete redesign. Seatbelts must protect everyone without risk.<p>However, I think the article turns dubious halfway through. Bigger trucks colliding with small passenger cars or pedestrians is a completely different issue. The transportation industry isn&#x27;t sexist and racist for needing big trucks to move cargo!
