Hard sells and ‘toxic’ targets: How Indian edtech giant Byju’s fuels its rise

This needs to be discussed more. I have Indian friends who were recruited for sales by Byju's and their offshoots like Whitehat Jr, and their tactics are downright malicious.
They try to prey on the insecurities of families who are not remotely financially well-off, often the child being the first generation to actually have access to schooling, and push the parents to purchase ridiculous packages lest the children should "end up like them".
The materials themselves are also entirely useless, so it's basically snake oil. The execs line their pockets while subjecting employees to toxic abuse-riddled work environments. It's a mess, but most people who do speak up about it get harassed by their huge legal team (see Pradeep Poonia).
