Ask HN: How do you track the books you’re reading?

6 pointsby hkcover 3 years ago
Do you use any app/software or just old school physical bookmark?

I don't really "track" the books I'm reading, although I'm not sure what your precise definition of tracking is.
I know some folks use Goodreads. For me personally, I prefer reading physical books over ebooks. I read one book at a time, and no matter what all is on my plate, whether I'm traveling, extremely busy with work, tired, etc. – I always read before going to bed. It actually helps me fall asleep better, and my time laying in bed awake is much more productive getting through my books.

I use a bookmark that my kids frequently remove, so just kind of remember where I am up to in any given book.

I don't. Should I?
I go through at least 3-4 books a month. It sounds exhausting to keep track of all that. And for what?

I use a kindle and have never legitimately read more than 2 books at once (even that’s rare).

Normally in a stack next to the bed, or strewn about in eyeshot, with dog eared pages.
