These people very rarely do their homework. I have around 3 years of experience with Kubernetes, so a recruiter contacted me saying that my profile "fits perfectly" the position. Which requires 10 years of experience with Rails (I have 14-15) and ... 10 years of experience with Kubernetes. FFS it didn't even exist at the time.
Have you ever received such ridiculous opportunities?
The requirements were probably written by someone else and then copy-pasted. The poor recruiter likely doesn't even know what Kubernetes is.
You simply explain to them Kubernetes itself didn't exist at the time, but you have experience with related technologies (Docker, Linux, whatever, etc.) If you communicate well, they'll present you to their client regardless. Remember, they want that fee.
I get one strange group of shitty contractor agencies (India based with a middle-of-nowhere-in-Cali address) that updates their year numbers every year. So last year they wanted 10 years of experience with Windows Server 2020, this year they wanted 10 years of experience with Windows Server 2021. It's clear no one technical is involved in this.
