Virtual aperture synthetic focus was my obsession for a while... a series of photos are taken from slightly different positions of the same still subject. The images are then aligned using hugin into a virtual focal plane, then averaged into one output frame.<p>The net effect is that of a virtual lens the size of the grouping of photos.
