The brokeness is that <i>deplorables</i> are using Facebook and being successful at it.<p>When Obama's campaign used the internet in 2008 it was hailed as revolutionary. "A new age for democracy" yadda yadda yadda.<p>Facebook is our scapegoat. Because so many conversations are happening on there, we are blaming it for the contention that exists in the world.
How does a company fix itself? As far as I understand, society/state/country has laws that corporations are obligated to follow or else pay legal penalties. Sure, investors can demand the company follow certain directions but that may or may not be deemed sufficient by others. And then we are stuck in a perpetual cycle of pointing fingers.
