Ask HN: Why doesn't PS5 support 1440p when it can do 4k?

I am assumming a lot of people will prefer playing at 1440p 120fps then at 4k 60 fps atleast for multiplayer games.

1440p is not a TV resolution. Games could run at 1440p120 and upscale to 4K with FSR if they want to.
