 I'm Co-Founder and CEO of Vantage. I also previously worked as a PM on the container services team at AWS so know this world well.
We just launched Kubernetes Cost Visibility for customers on Amazon EKS - this is our second container product that we're supporting costs for as we already support AWS Fargate.
We've heard from customers that K8S is consistently one of the more difficult things to get visibility into costs for. As K8S services are separate from the underlying EC2 instances you need to collect data about the lifecycles of pods and join that together with the pricing information of the underlying EC2 instances this services run on.
Vantage now does this in a turn-key manner. We pull together data from AWS service APIs, Cost and Usage Report data as well as metrics collected about the Kubernetes services themselves to produce a simple report per EKS Cluster. This gives you a breakdown for each K8S service and gives you the ability to infer underutilization on the cluster to make rightsizing decision as well.
Happy to answer any questions - but I encourage you to sign up and give it a go.
