Cybersecurity has a number of factors that allow 'crooked' nations to steal a march on ethical and lawful nations. We have seen how many people refuse to deal in matters that they feel are not ethical - Google's employee stance a short while ago against what they felt were crooked practices are a case in point. You can be sure that there is no shortage of fully crooked people at work for China/N.Korea/Russia/Iran etc., who are quite willing(or are forced) to do this. These crooked people also operate on wage scales that are a fraction of what IT people in the West work for. Will these people ever walk out in protest? They may want to, but there are factors that mitigate against this - breakfast/lunch/dinner - and life itself being major factors. We have seen how totalitarian regimes use a whole array of the very practices that the Google employees walked out over, as well as many far more onerous forms of villainy. Will the people ever rise up? The USSR failed by the crooked nature of it's own government ruining their economies until the old guard died off - yet it seems they back slid? Will the same old guard shuffling off this mortal coil work in China and the mass of people will at last get sick of the various ways communists fail? Perhaps not. China has a well educated ruling class - more so than the USA, will there be a sea change in how China rules itself as more young turks emerge?
