Spotify may have deemphasized shuffling in albums, but they now force you to queue completely random algorithmically chosen songs with albums if you use the "Spotify Connect" feature to remotely control another endpoint.
So -- users streaming to say a Chromecast or smart speaker will get Adele's new album completely in the right order if they press the most prominent button, sure, but it won't end, it will add a jumble of tracks you didn't pick to the end of the album. I'm not sure it was worth the trade.
And no, if you are using the Connect feature you cannot disable this autoplay "feature" any longer. See many angry users here:

Her take on album conception and production is spot on.
Great albums can be appreciated as an atomic thing, one whole listen start to end. One can tell a much bigger story, have depth, character, and other higher order constructs to tickle the minds of an audience with.
I am not sure just forcing it is the right way to go. And the including of other tracks, forced impressions, or at the least, hard to avoid "discovery times" is either.
For me personally, I much prefer doing it all the old school way, made easier with the tools we have today. Talking with people, listening to tracks, albums, sharing impressions.
If someone is selecting the music, great! Let them take me somewhere and create the impression, mood, story.
I get a lot out of those human interactions centered on music. Great stuff and the relationships one forms doing it are the best.
Of course none of that scales, and maybe it shouldn't. Fine with me because the special remains so.
The outrage should be in the other direction. They were shuffled by default, WTF is with that?
If i want to shuffle, I turn it on. Every player on earth did this before this, I think Spotify wanted to burn the beans for a signature trash taste.
It's shitty shitty shitty UX to shuffle your play button. I'd hit a shuffle button for that.
Every outlet reporting outrage needs to shut up IMHO. This is a good decision.
Spotify has trash UX and I don't know why they exist.
