There was an attempted coup in this country, it has still not been fully acknowledged internally, and the danger is still present.

The article title seems to suggest something sinister but I am not sure there was anything sinister here after reading all that.
> There was no evidence the Kremers and the other rally organizers encouraged or planned violence in the group-text messages reviewed by Rolling Stone.
Okay. So is this any different from people using Telegram to plan BLM protests or other events and wanting to stay anonymous?
> However, critics have argued that Trump and the leaders who encouraged thousands of his supporters to come to Washington as the vote was certified deserve some blame for the violence because of their pre-Jan. 6 rhetoric and the fiery content of the former president’s speech at the Ellipse rally.
Yes and what’s wrong with Trump holding a rally? Tens of thousands went to DC that day (the permits for the event anticipated 30,000), several thousand (close to 10,000) marched from the rally to the Capitol, and only around 500 entered the Capitol grounds, most of whom didn’t do anything more than trespassing. As for Trump’s speech - he didn’t incite any violence in it. In fact the transcript shows he literally called for a “peaceful” march to the Capitol from the rally.
