This reminds me of the golden age of open WiFi routers and netbios attacks on XP networks. I recall there was a few months where someone was war driving in my area and form feeding all the paper out of shared printers. I picked up a few weeks of work "securing" WiFi routers for many companies. (This was long before packet sniffing exploits were mainstream hence the quotes around securing, as a matter of fact most people had default admin passes and no encryption on their WiFi routers at the time)
