The coolest thing here is the Emoji to English translation, IMO, which builds grammatically-correct sentences from an unlimited number of emojis. Translating english -> emoji -> english makes for some interesting mistranslations.<p>It's good enough that I'm wondering whether they're drawing off recent english->emoji translations to reverse emojis back to the source material.<p>Example of Edgar Allan Poe's Tell-Tale Heart:<p>English:<p>>True! — nervous — very, very dreadfully nervous I had been and am; but why will you say that I am mad? The disease had sharpened my senses — not destroyed — not dulled them. Above all was the sense of hearing acute. I heard all things in the heaven and in the earth. I heard many things in hell. How, then, am I mad? Hearken! and observe how healthily — how calmly I can tell you the whole story.<p>(Emoji doesn't display properly on HN or I'd quote it here, but it's encoded into the URL here [1])<p>Translating the emoji back to english:<p>>True! — nervous — very , very afraid of a sudden I have; but why will you say that I'm grumpy? crisis has made my senses — not destroyed — not dulled them . Above all the sense of ear acupuncture . I heard all things in heaven and earth . I heard many things in heck . The question , then , I'm grumpy? please! and understand how to consume — how calmly I can tell you the whole story .<p>[1] <a href="https://translate.yandex.com/?lang=emj-en&text=%E2%9D%8C%20%20%E2%9D%97%20%E2%80%94%20%F0%9F%98%93%20%E2%80%94%20%F0%9F%93%B6%20%2C%20%F0%9F%93%B6%20%20%F0%9F%98%A8%20%20%F0%9F%98%93%20%20%F0%9F%91%A4%20%20%E2%9C%94%EF%B8%8F%3B%20%E2%9C%8B%20%EF%B8%8F%20%F0%9F%A4%A6%20%20%F0%9F%94%9C%20%20%F0%9F%91%86%20%20%F0%9F%92%AC%20%20%F0%9F%91%88%20%20%F0%9F%91%A4%20%20%F0%9F%98%BE%20%20%E2%9D%93%20%20%E2%98%A3%20%20%E2%9C%94%EF%B8%8F%20%20%E2%9A%92%20%20%F0%9F%91%87%20%20%F0%9F%A4%94%20%E2%80%94%20%F0%9F%9A%AB%20%20%F0%9F%92%A5%20%E2%80%94%20%F0%9F%9A%AB%20%20%F0%9F%92%80%20%20%F0%9F%91%AB%20.%20%F0%9F%94%9D%20%20%F0%9F%8C%90%20%20%F0%9F%A4%94%20%20%F0%9F%91%82%20%20%F0%9F%A4%A2%20.%20%F0%9F%91%A4%20%20%F0%9F%91%82%20%20%F0%9F%8C%90%20%20%F0%9F%91%82%20%20%F0%9F%91%BC%20%26%20%F0%9F%8C%8D%20.%20%F0%9F%91%A4%20%20%F0%9F%91%82%20%20%F0%9F%93%9A%20%20%F0%9F%91%82%20%20%F0%9F%94%A5%20%F0%9F%98%88%20.%20%E2%9D%94%20%2C%20%E2%A4%B4%20%2C%20%F0%9F%91%A4%20%20%F0%9F%98%BE%20%20%E2%9D%93%20%20%F0%9F%99%8F%20%20%E2%9D%97%20%26%20%F0%9F%A4%94%20%20%E2%9D%94%20%20%F0%9F%8D%B4%20%E2%80%94%20%E2%9D%94%20%20%F0%9F%94%87%20%20%F0%9F%91%A4%20%20%F0%9F%92%AA%20%20%F0%9F%92%AC%20%20%F0%9F%91%86%20%20%F0%9F%8E%82%20%20%F0%9F%93%96%20" rel="nofollow">https://translate.yandex.com/?lang=emj-en&text=%E2%9D%8C%20%...</a>.
So... it started out with Hello world. Ok. That made me think of the Hilltop Singers and the amusements of things like "Sprit in the sky" becoming "whisky in the heavens" when translated to Spanish and back.<p>So... on a random "lets see what it does"...<p>I want to give the world a hug -- <a href="https://translate.yandex.com/?lang=en-emj&text=I%20want%20to%20give%20the%20world%20a%20hug" rel="nofollow">https://translate.yandex.com/?lang=en-emj&text=I%20want%20to...</a><p>to which it appears to redirect to <a href="https://translate.yandex.com/?lang=en-emj&text=I%20want%20to%20give%20the%20world%20a%20huge" rel="nofollow">https://translate.yandex.com/?lang=en-emj&text=I%20want%20to...</a> for some reason... and I get it ending with a rhinoceros.<p>If you watch, you can see it briefly have a hug emoji... before replacing it with the rhinoceros.
Reminds me of Chrome's "Translate to emoji" April fools ( <a href="https://chrome.googleblog.com/2014/04/a-faster-mobiler-web-with-emoji.html" rel="nofollow">https://chrome.googleblog.com/2014/04/a-faster-mobiler-web-w...</a> )
I call it something else:

Funny, I recently made a site to encode English into emoji. Not just English, any text really. I call it face64 (like base64) <a href="https://face64.me" rel="nofollow">https://face64.me</a>
Wonder how long this will fly<p><a href="https://translate.yandex.com/?lang=en-emj&text=communism%20rules" rel="nofollow">https://translate.yandex.com/?lang=en-emj&text=communism%20r...</a>
