Sales of new ICE cars will be banned in many advanced markets from 2035 so it's clear that all models from all brands will be electric-only from at least that date if those are the target markets.
I'll believe it when I see it and when I can buy it. Till then I'm not holding my breath waiting for Toyota who's been the slowest automaker to electrify their fleet.
An ICE maker could do very well, just executives throwing chairs, calling electric cars cancer and suing with proxy patent trolls. They could mess up charging infrastructure standards by introducing their own incompatible ones. For example if a manufacturer has plugin hybrids but no electric cars, then it's in their interest that where a hybrid can be charged, an electric car cannot (or can only very slowly).
