One of my Favorite Betty White jokes is that she never created a Facebook account to connect with friends, she said "At my age if I want to connect with old friends I need a Ouija board".

My eldest daughter was born in 1985. When my wife went into labor, we drove in my pickup truck to the local hospital. Before she went into active labor in the early hours of the morning, we shared her hospital bed and watched an episode of “The Golden Girls” together. I treasure that sweet memory.

My SO and me are regularly (at least once per year) watch "The Golden Girls" (or better she watches, while I fall asleep too soon). I now - despite sleeping through a lot of episodes have watched the series many times and I still love to visit old friends.
I would have wished for her to reach her 100st birthday - and for me to not have this year end with another passing away after 3 members of the family already gone.
Stay well out there and let's hope for a better 2022.

This is a stupid anecdote, but I'll share it anyways.
A while ago, I was scrolling through random old shows that are streaming and thought, "Huh, I haven't actually seen a re-run of the Mary Tyler Moore show in probably 30 years." So I check one out from 1972 - the year I was born, and there's Betty White! I had totally forgotten she was in it!
Then I think, wait, how old was she then? 50?? Holy cow. She was older than I am today (49) when I was born. Wow. Mind boggling. I wonder if I'll be around in 2072?
So sad to see her pass. But it goes to show the truth of the expression: "100 years: All new people."

Back in the 1990's there were heroin bags in New York labeled "Betty White". That was a tribute to her fame I suppose. Since then, I would think of drugs when her name came up.

Loved her (and everyone I guess) on Match Game. Watch classic Match Game if you get the opportunity.

Not many people could say they appeared on a daily TV show in 1949, let alone hosting one! (Betty out-lasted two male co-hosts.)

Very awesome that she was doing what she loved until the end, and probably more popular then she had ever been.

a shame it happened so close to her birthday
