From the linked "doubled down" Medium article written by former SpaceX intern Sahil Gupta:
> Long story short, Teller said Not a good fit, Go start your own company (advice which I thank him for).
> Then as the call was about to end, I asked him, Hey is Elon Satoshi?
> There was silence for 15 seconds.
> Then Teller said, “Well, what can I say?”.
> Not a paraphrase. Actual words.
> Then I said Wow. Awkward silence. Bye. And that was the end of the conversation.
That's pretty interesting anecdote; the ending reminds me of the "count to ten" scene from _All the President's Men_:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvKBHCBBdf0&t=1m44s
Well who knows, maybe, but some of these (prefers C++, uses British English spellings sometimes, prefers Windows) are, uh, let's just say not too rare.
More likely, Satoshi is someone we've never heard of who coded up Bitcoin and then passed away, which is why he hasn't been heard from since. Saying that he's actually a really famous guy, reminds one of the drunk looking under the streetlight for his keys because he can see better there. We've heard of Elon Musk. What % of programmers, even programmers who worked at PayPal back in the day and so thought about e-money a lot, have we heard of?
Serious question, is/was Elon Musk sufficiently tech savvy? Bitcoin is pretty sophisticated from a technical and security perspective isnt it? Is there any evidence or other output to indicate this is something Musk would likely have been able to to? I don't want to knock the guy, but I never pictured him as a "hacker" or anything close
