Ask HN: Are you giving honest feedback to recruiters?

1 pointsby l1am0over 3 years ago
I get contact by recruiters a lot and today there was an exceptional bad cold message (bad rate, wrong technologies):
https://twitter.com/eu_frey/status/1479484463193235458
Are you responding to recruiters and telling them what you think? I would like to have the whole ecosystem get better and this is one way how I think we can help people to improve in their job...on the other hand, feels a bit like an asshole move, though.

Feedback is uncompensated consultation. Freely telling someone why they are failing does not benefit you. Whether it benefits the overall industry in general, could be a net zero as you are then demonstrating a willingness to give away expertise for free.

No response is powerful, honest feedback.
Relative to helping the ecosystem— evolve or die proposition.
If hiring talent is mission critical—- put your Top People on the task.
Don’t give this job to HR flunkies and hope they’ll find someone good.
