Applied a few months ago. 3 or 4 positions. All Ghosted.
Yes, I entered my real name, not "First Last". Their job application confirmation email auto response from months ago has my name, I just checked.
> The kind of experience that leaves you feeling respected and appreciated, no matter where you are in the process

Give them honest feedback? The org tracking responses isn't the org responsible for your poor experience.

Same here. I interviewed for Apple back in November. The interview went really, really well. And yet, no response. I assumed that they might be off for winter break so I plan on giving them an extra week or so to get caught up on work and get back to me. If they don’t by the end of the month, I’ll just have to start applying again to other places.

I help companies with their technical recruiting. They're always trying to get more candidates in to interview. However, they're not looking to source candidates externally. They simply want help digging through all the candidates in their applicant tracking system (ATS). They already have so many applications, even ones that are years old, that they've built up a massive resume database that they can sort through. So they have no need for applications, LinkedIn outreach, etc.

DHH from Basecamp recently wrote It's not a lottery[0]. It's about hiring. In the post he wrote the following:
Maybe that's part of the disillusionment with the modern job market. That applications are being processed by AI, and humans don't even see your effort, unless the computer finds the matching keywords in the CV. So why put in the effort! But is that actually true? Are lots of companies actually hiring this way? For positions like this? I'm skeptical.
Yes, your application is being scanned by AI. It's possible it won't reach a human. There are so many candidates applying to jobs companies have no choice but to use an ATS. Also, companies sometimes put job posts online without any intention of actually hiring for it.
Never take ghosting personally. Keep applying to other jobs, even if looks like a particular step of the process with a specific company is going well. You don't have a job until those documents are signed.
It's a numbers game. Put effort into every application and don't send the same CV over and over again. Use software like CVCompiler[1] to make sure your resume has the appropriate info for the job. Use LinkedIn direct messaging. Email the hiring manager directly.
Keep going and good luck to everyone in the job market right now.
[0]: https://world.hey.com/dhh/it-s-not-a-lottery-8d378442
[1]: https://cvcompiler.com/

Lol I see this all over the tech industry. I will apply to my current employer's direct competitors and never hear back. I have 5+ years of tenure and willing to relocate. I never get a response, and the job posting is never taken down. What's going on?

Well tbh that's how most companies would treat applicants...

This is not exclusive to Apple, and applies to other companies as well - even those that might have just rejected you before sending an email asking for feedback.
Edit: Don't link to a download
