Hey everyone! I'm currently building a minimalist, privacy-focused LinkedIn alternative for software engineers:
- Only connections can message you
- Find your next role on your terms: specify your criteria, no recruiter spam, vetted jobs.
- Connecting and following activity are decoupled, only see what you want to see and reduce the noise.
- Privacy focused, open-source, no Google Analytics
What are your thoughts? Would this be valuable to the community?
My first thought is of fax machines and how still in 2022 faxes are still required sometimes. The network affect of LinkedIn is large. The desire for engineer only will be very hard to get any critical mass. You are also competing with stackovetflow bios and github profiles.
