I couldn't disagree more. My life is permanently ruined because i followed this strategy. The problem with buying things, is that at some point you no longer own the things, the things own you. I am trapped in my situation by owning things for which i cannot divest myself of, and am paying dearly for.<p>Buying experiences are definitely consumptive, and lost, but you stop paying for them once finished.
Isn't this really saying that some things will open up future experiences? The example of buying a kitchen opens up the experience of cooking, shared meals, and so on.
