Citizen seems like the last step in a trend I see where people trust companies and apps more than neighbors and acquaintances. If an app told you your neighbor committed a crime would you trust it?
> Citizen sent push alerts to over 860,000 users in Los Angeles about the incident, and Citizen employees told their viewers to hunt out this person.
Although I will counter myself with the fact this is very similar to what the police already do. Most wanted, amber alerts, rewards on people matching some description, etc are all pretty common practice. Not an excuse to Citizen, but police often mistakenly go after the innocent and it's very damaging.
