>go to the dealer and they’ll fix it for you, for free, by installing a mirror on the dash that will reflect your instruments in the proper orientation.
cheap and easy fix
>I’m kidding!
:(
>They’ll replace the whole LCD dash unit, which should fix this.
>Even weirder, some reports have suggested that it only happens at really low temperatures, which makes no sense at all: why would a low temperature affect the orientation of how the instrument cluster computer is rendering its images?
Car uses universal buffered LCD module with configuration pins setting initial orientation.
>The instrument panel (“IP”) cluster liquid-crystal display (“LCD”) in the subject vehicles may have been produced with incorrect resistors resulting in the possibility of an inverted image of associated controls, gauges, and telltale indicators upon startup of the vehicle at extremely low temperatures.
Solid strap resistors set initial orientation, but badly matched values result in marginal logic levels. Judging by very low number of affected vehicles someone screwed up loading P&P machine with correct value part/misread a zero or two? :)
