Improve equity in software by not negotiating salaries

Equity in salaries is all good and well, but it&#x27;s not going to convince anyone to take a <i>pay cut</i> to join your company. For example, I flat out refuse to hear about any offer that&#x27;s &lt;$400K a year. I&#x27;m not going to join test double for $200K just because that&#x27;s what they pay everyone.

i&#x27;m very proud to work at test double for many reasons, not the least of which is the work we do to improve equity within the company. my wife and i have recently been talking with the kids about how important pay equity is and so i&#x27;m very happy to see and share this post from Christine, our head of HR and operations.
