Ask HN: Is Google Chrome Blocking Me from Downloading an AdBlocker?

1 pointsby andrewseanryanover 3 years ago
I tried to download Adlock via a webpage loaded in Chrome and I noticed there was no download button. It seemed like bad design, but then I went to the same webpage on Safari and noticed that the download button was prominently positioned on the same page multiple times (https://adlock.com/adlock-for-macos/). Do you think this is due to a design issue on the website, or Google actively making it harder to block Adsense?

I see CSS display: none; visibility: hidden; in my Firefox and Safari browser. Thus both don't show any buttons. There's a lot of debug output on the Javascript console. Maybe the website developer is actively working on the page right now.
