I&#x27;ve built a simple job board for biotech startups (smaller and younger biotech companies): https:&#x2F;&#x2F;workinbiotech.com<p>If you are seasoned biotech worker or young graduate searching for a job in biotech:<p>1. Do you actively select smaller companies when looking for a job or size does not matter to you?<p>2. Do you find companies&#x27; size and funding information useful on a job board?<p>3. I found that there are very few companies with size 251-500 employees. For those looking to work in smaller companies, do you find 250+ employee companies too big?<p>4. Would you sign up for a weekly newsletter that send you the most recent jobs for selected categories?<p>5. Would salary range be useful to you as a candidate?<p>---<p>Question to broader HN community, how would you go about gathering salary information for biotech companies without crowdsourcing from employees?<p>---<p>Thanks!

I gave quick answers to your numbered questions in a separate comment. Regarding your &quot;question to the broader HN community&quot; about getting salary info, maybe the best way is to ask companies to provide it themselves, and offer evidence that this will lead to a higher number of quality applications (assuming it does).<p>Crowd-sourced salary info is really useful for the industry as a whole, but not for specific companies. It&#x27;s common for salaries to vary by up to 2X for people at the same grade level.

Great website! I will take a closer look later. To answer your questions:<p><i>1. Do you actively select smaller companies...?</i> No, size does not matter.<p><i>2. Do you find companies&#x27; size and funding information useful...?</i> All info is useful, but I wouldn&#x27;t consider this absolutely essential.<p><i>3. ...do you find 250+ employee companies too big?</i> No.<p><i>4. Would you sign up for a weekly newsletter...</i> Hell no. Sorry.<p><i>5. Would salary range be useful...?</i> Definitely.
