Here's a solution: Stop acting like a jerk. I understand people aren't going to change completely, but instead of the world trying to figure out how to work around you and if it's worth the costs, how about you solve the problem. It's your responsibility - it's your behavior, and it's also your workplace and you are having a negative impact on its functioning.
In particular, bosses who act like prima donnas convey that they don't care about outcomes - very poor leadership. Boards should not put up with it - 'why are you harming the business?' 'Is there a return on this approach?' (I am not naive: I know it's really about power.)
As an aside, THE BULWARK is the best - the only, that I've seen - good writing on current politics. They clearly have opinions (which often disagree with mine - I generally have different politics), but they are clear-eyed and honest, and can see right through the smokescreen of BS and sophistry that dominates everything else. Very highly recommended. Given the times, possibly one of the most essential publications ever - no exaggeration.
