Chrome OS Flex promises to make your old Windows or Mac laptop usable again

But it won't make the old apps usable again. I've been trying to figure out for years why computers are so difficult to use and I've come to the conclusion that the churn in OS's and apps plus the difficulty in moving data and apps between devices is one the main reasons. Your entire digital persona is forced to change at least every decade, and you often have to relearn how to do things you used to know well. Everything digital fades away over time. This is good in some cases, but bad in others. I find it most apparently bad in music apps (DAW's, plugins). It's like having to relearn the violin from scratch every decade.
