Blink 182 + SimpleGeo + Soundcloud = Listen to new album with people nearby

Can there please, please, please be a way to disable the chat sound if I am not on the tab. I understand the experience is supposed to be social, but I may jump back and forth between tabs or not be in that tab at all, yet I keep hearing the swooshing noise. It's unlistenable.

Cool concept, Soundcloud seems to be constantly innovating on ways to get people to socially listen to new music.

I thought "cool" . Then got to 0:42 secs and turned the noise off.
