I think this old proposal contains some interesting ideas, such as:<p>“2.5 Mapping of version 4 numbers<p>Initially, all existing Internet numbers are defined as belonging to the NSF&#x2F;Internet AD, number 192.0.0.”<p>This means you could keep your assigned IPv4 address if you already have one, and wouldn’t need two separate addresses, right?
