You probably use a secondary browser to login to work and personal accounts at the same time or check stuff with/ without add-ons, etc. If you love Firefox, you don't really have to put up with Chrome or Edge for this purpose.
You can use Firefox Developer Edition[1] as your secondary browser (while using Firefox at the same time).
Note - If you need a third or even a fourth browser, there is Firefox Beta and Firefox Nightly https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/
[1] <https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/developer/>
I personally use Firefox's "Multi-Account Containers" which Mozilla advertises as "an improved version of the Containers feature built into Firefox and available to advanced users". It requires an official add-on though: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/multi-account....
You don't even need different release channels. Firefox is the original browser with Profiles.
about:profiles
Now all it needs is a nicer UI to switch them.
I miss firefox. I had it working great and one day it just stopped connecting to websites. Not sure if it was associated with an update or what. Tried resets/restarts, tried to delete it completely and reinstall and nothing worked and I couldn't even reinstall it. I've been on safari ever since and pretty sad about it. The new feature seems super nice tho.
One thing I haven't figured out with Firefox. I have two profiles, one for personal stuff and one for my work. Having both profiles running at the same time requires two instances of the Firefox app to be running. Is that correct / is there anyway around that?
As a Firefox user, I don't need another browser to separate my accounts or add-ons. I can just use multi-account containers or multiple profiles. (Add-ons are stored in a profile, so different profiles can have different add-ons installed. Also different themes, bookmarks, passwords, cookies, etc.)
The only time I need to use Chrome or Edge as a secondary browser is for broken sites that don't work correctly with Firefox.
