That is an interesting side-effect of a war - civilians (including hackers) flee into EU, and get arrested/extradited.<p>I guess there is a silver lining anywhere, if you look hard enough.
You'd think he might have more value as a turned cyber asset than indicted? Perhaps a DoJ stake in the ground to encourage others to recant when they find themselves in EU territory avoiding Russian cruise missiles ?
This guy is dangerous, and glad he is off the street. Detonating ransomware via software update distribution network is probably one of the most destructive acts a person could do. Spray and pray with nukes. It’s an extreme sociopathy. Super serial killer mindset.
