&quot;information is never sold, disclosed, or <i>even seen</i> by the big telecom carriers&quot;<p>That claim smells... unless they&#x27;re deploying their own personal network throughout the US (highly unlikely) that means they&#x27;re an MVNO of someone else (suspiciously missing from the announcement whose network they&#x27;d be using), which by design implies the information is totally seen by big telecom carriers.<p>Sure, you can VPN the network traffic, but the actual information such as location (tower triangulated), IMEI &#x2F; other personal identifiers are totally tracked by the network operator.
