Sitting here in the great white north: covid isn’t gone, and we’re seeing a new wave starting based on wastewater monitoring, second boosters are spinning up. Omicron wasn’t seemingly affected by the first two and boosters helped but they worried about the duration. Our booster rate isn’t great (50-60%) and I thought the us was lower. The concern is older folks and immunocompromised.
Hospitalization is up but the icu hasn’t seen an increase. If that holds, things will be great. I thought any form of covid was a risk for the unvaxed and that the dammed thing is so contagious that anybody exposed might get it. The trick is the hospital/icu rates.
And the big wheels in Washington are old farts. Old farts are the largest covid risk category. Overconfidence sux.
