Some of the most useful plugins for Vim and Emacs to counteract bad defaults, are no longer working due to breaking editor changes with insufficient plugin maintenance.
I've had to comment out so many shims like that in my configs and tolerate horrid default editor behavior. Too many problems, not enough solutions. Entropy increase.
Years later when someone posts another fix, it feels so good to reach another peak of seamless editor behavior. There's always a hundred other little annoying problems with an editor (any editor). But nipping even just one flaw in the bud for a few more months produces such b l i s s.
