Interesting that the article mentions the downsides of LFP versus NMC or NCA, but does not mention the very strong upsides: much greater safety and much longer cycle life (therefore vehicle life).

Does that mean that car prices will drop a bit since Cobalt is the most expensive material used in Lithium batteries?

well LFP is the old school way of lithium, it is dirt cheap and you can order it very cheap. also much more reliable, tolerant etc. only thing is low energy density. Quality depends on moisture level at fabrication process.
