Ask HN: Have you ever suffered from omega-3 deficiency?

1 pointsby muterad_murilaxabout 3 years ago
If so, what was it like?
How did your situation improve after you started eating sufficient amounts?
How much DHA, EPA, ALA etc. would you recommend an adult to consume (daily?) to be on the safe side?

There’s no acute symptoms from deficiency (unless you consumed zero essential fatty acids, which is almost impossible). That said, you don’t need to guess about supplementation dose. For $50-$100, anyone can test their fatty acid levels: https://omegaquant.com/ (the “Omega-3 Index” tests).
