Hi HN!
As a side project for the last 3 weeks I've been working on scraping and analyzing thousands of Telegram messages from channels about the war in Ukraine and building a dashboard on top of it.
Although Telegram is not that popular in the west, it's used extensively in Russia and Ukraine to document the war. The content comes from a manually selected set of approximately 40, 70 and 100 English, Russian and Ukrainian language channels respectively. This includes official authorities of both countries, news organizations (also western ones), and independent channels/reporters that consistently talk about the topic.
Intelligram offers a search engine across what are now almost 800k messages collected since the start of the war. On top of that, what I'm most proud of is the visualization section where you can find: 1) a graph view of the connections between different channels based on forwarded messages; 2) a live map of which locations are most mentioned in the last 24 hours.
I will be glad to hear any feedback!
