Why Drones Have Not Revolutionized War?

This is a dense read, being an academic journal article, but it offers a good dose of realism in the discussion of drones. Reporting on the war in Ukraine has tended to play up the value of drones, perhaps due to their novelty value (and perhaps also not wanting to talk about intel assistance from outside).

They will. Give them a bit of time. At the moment they are probably more or less at the level of usefulness of aircraft back in 1914.<p>In wartimes we will find intense development both of their capabilities and of their range of uses.

Wow, what a wall of text to parse. I would suggest that drones (including hobby drones) have already revolutionized combat.
