Hmm seems like either the randomisation function is very, very broken or the same confessions have been entered thousands of times, since I've seen the same two confessions about ten times so far.
Quality control seems questionable too, but hey, maybe I'd disagree if I saw a more varied set of answers.
Looks like someone is flooding it with copies of an N-word-ridden rant, making it hard to find any other content.
EDIT: and now it's anti-Semitic conspiracy. And now it's down.
Am I burning those 200 views if I see the same confession multiple times? The random selector can show you ones you’ve just seen. That or Sarah Pearson’s been extra busy.
These type of sites were very popular in the late 90s/early 2000s. The most famous one was probably lowbrow.com, https://web.archive.org/web/19990428052738/http://www.lowbro...
I suppose with all the spillover from the web back into real life these days the view limit is needed. Lowbrow stored stories until lowbrow stopped existing.
There's another "anonymous message server" I've been using since the late 90s where you just get whatever the person before you to the site wrote. It is amazingly still going today but I think linking it on HN would kill it.
Back in early 2000 there was a confession website. I forget the name. But man some of the confessions on there… can’t unread that stuff 20 years later…
