Author is known &quot;for founding the early virtual reality company Immersion Corp (Nasdaq IMMR) in 1993&quot;<p>I&#x27;ll bet he had grand predictions for the miracles VR would bring about, too.<p>Should this kinda thing make us feel safer about AI boogermen? That the people raising concerns about &quot;AI&quot; have a track record of living off of hype instead of reality is kinda comforting.

If we&#x27;re going by strict definitions then we already have &#x27;artificial general intelligence (AGI) that reaches (or exceeds) human-level cognition&#x27;, most people are complete morons and computers can already out-think them.
