Ask HN: Re:OSC’s, “How software co. die,” Are project managers the solution?

I read that article, it seems to have been posted 10+ times here since 1995.
Does intuit have this solved?
They were used as a case study for agile project management.
Does that solve the marketing/sales/mba take over? You all might have a better wording of my question. This is my first post, and I believe I read and searched for the proper approach. If wrong, I apologize. Hope you can offer some advice.

No.
The solution is to have good technical people lead the company, and to give the programmers a good balance of enough direction to know what's important to work on combined with enough freedom to have autonomy in how they achieve it.
Project managers take a company in the opposite direction (99% of the time). Scrum too.
