Hi HN - a clinical pharmacist for close to 10 years. As COVID hit, my wife stayed home and took care of the house. Found myself with a lot of evening and weekends with nothing to do. So, decided to use the time productively and learn how to code.
173 days later —> https://joyful.gifts
This app have been in production for 2 years now. It gave me the courage to call myself a software dev and get a job where I can code and do pharmacy stuff too.
Happy to answer any questions about the process!
Cool project, however for me the value of a gift has always been the time and thought someone put behind getting me a gift than the actual gift itself. I feel like services like this would just take it away.
Plus wouldn't you want to get the person what they wanted rather than what a <typical person of that demographic> wants? It's a lot less personal this way.
2.9% fee + risk the person being unhappy (meaning you have to return and waste time on that)
or
pick it yourself, save 2.9% of your money
latter for me, decent project regardless, upvoted
