Many of us get a lot of emails from recruiters. It is quite a privileged position to be annoyed by that, but the reality is that a lot of it is almost spam. Some recruiters put you on a mailing list and pretend to know you when in fact they are just blasting jobs that make no sense for you. This problem is why I created Recruiters, WTF?
Recruiters WTF is a GMail filter that you can download and import into your account and will label, archive, or delete (up to you, it’s configurable) emails from recruiters. The way it works is by filtering by domain name, it’s very straightforward.
If an email from a recruiter is not correctly filtered, you can forward it to info@recruiters.wtf and I’ll add it to the filter. Every now and then I’ll send you an updated version of the filter if you want. I’ll put in the work of coordinating this to keep it going and fresh.
Currently support for the United Kingdom is very good, for the United States is OK and improving and for other countries it may be tiny or absent. Even if I don’t have a filter now, you can leave your email address, and when one is available I’ll email it to you.
I have an idea on how to extend support for phone calls, but it’s trickier than email. I’m also happy to explore exporting filters to other email programs if there’s demand.
