Given that most of the health risks around cannabis (and tobacco I guess) involves the whole "inhaling burning debris" part of it, I'm starting to think the focus on the drug itself over drug delivery has been a major detriment to the whole issue. Ignoring the substance and instead shifting anything that isn't horribly addictive (though cocaine was once in Coca-Cola...) to your much more robust digestive system over abusing your lungs or mucous membranes seems like it would solve many of today's drug problems
It's poorly written legislation (surprise!) and seems to be dancing around the different types of cannabinoids (d9-THC, d8-THC, d10-THC, etc). While the bill is trying to move forward on the guise of consumer protection this poorly construction legislation won't actually do that. It's really time to start treating this product and the various cannabinoids (natural and synthetic) like we treat alcohol & tobacco.
