Ask HN: How do you figure out/prebook meetups for conventions like AWS reInvent?

4 pointsby parsley27almost 3 years ago
My co-founder and I are heading to re:Invent, and while we've always gotten great use out of the technical sessions, we want to build our partnerships and maybe even find a few potential leads.
Does anyone have some tips on what kind of pre-work they've found that works?
Last time we came down to a tech convention, we found most of our meeting through HN, but that was a very long time ago. :)

If you’re me / out of your tree, you build an entire sidecar brand/conference alongside of it built out of a pun on your own name. (https://requinnvent.com)
I also use Calendly.

I've had some luck with Twitter outreach, where you send DMs to or tweet at people who you have interacted with and who might be at the conference.
You could also send a note to your email list and write a blog post.
Like Corey said, make it easy for folks to schedule time using something like Calendly.
