I very much like the idea of cryptpad, especially the organization of multiple docs in folders, but to be fully useful in any org it needs a way to store files and documents of any type. Otherwise you'll need to juggle with multiple apps, and integration is not always the best.<p>Many orgs use Drive, the integration of Docs is a nice bonus but what matters is the storage of docs, images for projects, photos of events, ... I would love to switch some of those orgs away from Google, but there is no easy solution.
TLDR; CryptPad is a 6 years old FOSS project developed by XWiki SAS, a french company who has been doing open-source for 17 years. It aims to replace proprietary, unencrypted services like Google Docs, etc. It runs directly in the browser and the code is licensed under AGPLv3.
