Tell HN: OpenSea has silently deprecated embeds

6 pointsby kaishiroalmost 3 years ago
Overnight, OpenSea has seemingly silently deprecated the ability to embed a collection in an iframe. The embed links are now returning an `X-Frame-Options` header of `deny`, which fails the embeds for any sites relying on this functionality.
This was a formal, documented feature before today. This is the latest Internet Archive link featuring the documentation (July 9): https://web.archive.org/web/20220709105009/https://docs.opensea.io/docs/embeds
The current documentation has been scrubbed of any mention of this functionality, as well as showing an edit time of "1 day ago": https://docs.opensea.io/docs/embeds
As a developer who despises silent deprecations - particularly those without clear migration paths - I just wanted to pass this along in case anyone was relying on this functionality.
