What Happened to the Inventors?

They aren't called inventors anymore. They are researchers, scientists, analysts, principals, entrepreneurs etc. People are discovering and inventing new things, a lot of it in private companies.

We don't value either invention or the kind of hard work it requires any more as a society, and so we don't produce many inventors any longer.

There are a billion more inventors now than in the 15th century. Technology is exploding.
