The scientists behind climate research are no peddlers, far from it. Politicians arguing about climate research (either side) are. Stop listening to your representatives (and/or corporate powers behind them) and start listening to climate science. That, or plan for a permanent relocation to a coastal area, close to the equator (or the Arctic), and witness changes in fastforward mode.

What these clowns always fail to (conveniently?) discount from their calculations are any innovations. Yeah, if we continue down the current path unchanged some of what he his alarming about would probably come to pass - but society is hardly stagnant. Also remember in the 70's how many people were adamant the only way to solve pollution in Los Angeles was to ban all cars. Yeah, what a frigging disaster that would have been - and somehow we managed to turn that "disaster" around without destroying everyone's quality of life and the economy too.
Beware charlatans peddling crises that they magically can fix. It's the favorite schtick of politicians; create a crises than pitch yourself as the cure for the problems you created. And yet people continually fall for it :p
