Once had a client fire one of my contractors for the same thing back in 2016. That made me investigate and it turned out that every other one used it too - just they were not caught. Good thing, because i realised clients were happy (or at least accepted) work results diluted by about 3x with these jigglers - it's only that the clients were not willing to pay $100/h they were ACTUALLY unknowingly paying, but were happy to pay $35x3 :D. Seems to be a psychological thing - "remote developers must be CHEAP".<p>As a consequence, i simply left hourly work and started doing fixed prices. No need for jiggling bs and my revenue per employee more than doubled, and profit, more than tripled. Clients are calmer when they have no idea how little time their job actually takes.
